Who are we (Or should I say, who am I?)

Avayan Electronics was a company involved with the design of embedded applications in the area of robotic, automation and motion control. We created the Super Stepper architecture which enables the user to interface practically any peripheral to their robotic application. We were also proud to present the Versatile Prototyping Systems which is a set of tools that allow users to develop their own embedded applications and multi node communication protocols.

Today I keep on developing embedded applications and motor control gadgets. I plan on making all of my development open source as I believe the shared efforts of all hobbyists and enthusiast can make for a better product.

WHY FREE?

There is no free lunch, I have been taught. Yes, a great deal of the designs you see here are practically free. Whatever hours I spend developing them, you save by downloading the Gerber files and source code. But at the end, you will have to spend some money to realize your project. So it is not free, just easier.

Why Open Source?

At first I wanted to get rich doing what I like. Eventually we grow up and learn that making very hard dreams come true are still very hard. And getting rich doing what you want, is one of the hardest. Sure! We read all of the stories of those people who made it big. What you never read is all of the times they failed before. And you will never read the stories of those who only failed.

Well it happens that I like people reading about me! So I am trying a new technique. I’ll just give it all away and instead of getting rich in the process, I’ll share my knowledge with everybody else. After all, I can not take money to the grave... Enjoy my insanity!
